I Think I may Have Finally Borken the Habit!!

Yay for me. It's been about five weeks at least since I last bit my fingernails. I almost don't want to jinx it by saying that I think I kicked the habit (*cough* addiction *cough*). So far so good. I should make some sort of chip for myself like they give you in Alcoholics Anonymous! Maybe I will...

Our Sunday Trip

Today we left the house at around 11 and headed to Sacramento to see The Phantom of the Opera. It was awesome, I left my camera in the car when we went in because I was afraid they might confiscate it, but I wish I wouldn't have because the stage setup itself was amazing. The special effects were way cool and by far the most spectacular of any play I have seen so far.

Even though I don't have any pictures of what we saw on our way to and from the parking lot (including a church of Scientology with what we think was a security guard standing out front) I do have pictures of our eventful trip there.

First we stopped to check the oil and found that we only had about one-third of a (tank?) container in there. So we filled it up some more.

After that we were on our way.

We encountered some helpful warning signs:

And some nice dairy trucks:

Why what is that on our windshield, you ask? We believe it was either milk or ice cream that was delightfully spewing from the back of the truck. The windsheild was so dirty after this, it gave me a headache just looking through it.

On our way home, I decided that I should find a gas station and clean it off so that while we were driving home, I didn't have to deal with impared vision and a headache. However, my navigator thought differently. He decided that we only had a little bit of time before it got dark and that I wouldn't be driving into the sun anyway so it wouldn't be that bad. Boy was he wrong, on both accounts!! We had a whole half an hour left to drive and the sun wasn't going to set for another hour at least. Then on the way home, we were driving directly into the sun. FUN, FUN, FUN for me!

We finally made it home and I cleaned my windshield, however, my navigator is now fired. That was his third strike. What were his first two? Number one: When asked which way I would be turning onto the road ahead, he said, "Oh, you'll see it. It's at the four way stop up there." That's right, FOUR way stop! Number two: When asked what exit am I looking for up ahead, he says, "15th St." Later on we are talking about how far the exit is and I find out that I am supposed to merge onto a completely different freeway in between where we were and the 15th st. exit.

It's okay though, all mistakes were taken care of before they got us lost, and we made it home in one piece. I still love him and maybe he will get to be navigator again some day. To be honest, I am still shocked he trusted me enouh to drive there!

Disgusting!

I think it is horrible that someone would do this to anyone, let alone a 5 year old. What is wrong with people? And then to read some of the comments people made praising this worthless human being. UGH!

My Awesome Sunday Plans

So, one of mine and Spenser's Christmas presents from my Grams was tickets to go see The Phantom of the Opera when it came to Sacramento on May 25th. I am so excited that it is almost here. I have always wanted to go see this at the theater since I was little, and now I get to go! I think this might be one of the best weekends so far this year!! (Of course the #1 Best weekend being the weekend of February 8th.)

Summer of Love Yarn swap Q&A

Do you knit or crochet? How long have you been at your craft?I do both, but I have been knitting longer and prefer it more. I have been knitting since Christmas of 2006.

Do you spin? What type of spinning?I do not spin, but hope to learn some day.

What are your favorite yarns/fibers? What are your least favorite yarns/fibers?I like all fibers as long as they are soft. The only kinds of yarn I do not like are novelty yarns.

What are your favorite colors? What are your least favorite colors? My favorite colors are pink, blue, green, purple and recently some yellows. I don't really have a least favorite color. I like them all.

Are there any yarns/brands that you are dying to work with but never have?I am dying to work with Yarntini self striping or sKNITches self striping yarns, but they go out of stock too fast for me to get my hands on some!

What is/are your favorite types of projects to knit/crochet?Right now, I am obsessed with socks! I think they are so much fun to knit and go pretty fast. I also prefer to work with smaller needles.

What are you currently working on? Anything you plan to work on this summer?Right now I am working on three different pairs of socks. One pair is for father's day and another is for my future SIL's belated birthday gift.

What is your favorite FO? (Post a pic if you would like.)My favorite FO right now would have to be the socks I knit for my other future SIL's birthday. It hasn't come yet so I cannot post a picture. But here is my ravelry link to them: Kat's Monkeys (Don't look Kat, although I am not sure if you are able to anyway without logging in)

What is your oldest UFO?My oldest UFO would be the Viveka sweater I started a month after I learned how to knit. I got bored with all of the stockinette and still haven't even finished the back piece (the only piece I started).

Are there any techniques that you want to learn?I would love to do a steek one day! It is one of the only things I am worried about doing. But once I do, I am going to make this: Deep V Argyle Vest

Are you on Ravelry? What's your ID?My ravelry name is Bumble (now BumbleKnits)

Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?I love to knit socks. I rarely finish a pair for myself since I have super big feet (size 12.5 or 13 womens) Usually I knit socks that are 8.5-9 womens size since four people I knit socks for have that size.

Do you collect anything?YARN!! Lol. I also like cute keychains, but I don't think I collect anything that I don't really use. Maybe books, but if buy them to read them, does that count as collecting?

Do you have a yarn winder and/or swift?I have both. I love them!

Do you love sweets? What are your favorites?I do love sweets. My favorites are Milk Duds, dark chocolate, sour gummy worms, sweettarts, butterfingers, PEZ, and many more that I cannot think of at the moment.

What are your favorite scents? My favorite scent is cucumber melon, or pretty much anything with cucumber or melon.

Where do you keep your needles/hooks?I am very unorganized, so there are plenty scattered around my entire room...in my stash box, on my desk, in my purse even!

Do you have a wishlist (Amazon, Etsy, etc?)I have wishlist on Amazon and The Loopy Ewe

Having a birthday this summer? My birthday is Sept. 11. I say it's summer, most say it is fall.

Are you allergic to anything??? Please let your pal know!I am not allergic to anything I know of.
